Hello Friends of Vanderbilt Lacrosse: I hope you will enjoy the respite from the academic year and have a wonderful summer! I wanted to let you know what's happening on the "Friends" front and ask you to think about Vanderbilt Lacrosse and our fine, young, smart, athletic, college men! The team had a great season and, from what I hear, it was pretty fun for all. Lots of competition, lots of travel, lots of camaraderie! On the financial front, the team ended the year with a deficit of $3,200. We could use a few more contributions to bridge this gap so if you can make a TAX DEDUCTIBLE contribution this summer, that would be fantastic. Contribution details are at the end of this email. Next stop: Family Weekend. I'm delighted to announce that we have secured a spot in the Family Weekend 2010 lineup for a Commodores lacrosse game and field dinner celebration! Here are some details: Support the Commodores: Friday, October 8, 2010. The Vanderbilt Men’s Lacrosse Team will host its South Eastern Lacrosse Conference opponent at Vanderbilt’s Natchez Field. Game time: 5:30 p.m. Admission at the gate: $15 per person; children 12 and under and VU students free. Vandy Lax Dinner Buffet: Students, families and friends of Vandy Lax are invited to join us for a dinner buffet on the field following the game: 7:00 p.m. One of our favorite local restaurateurs will be on site to offer à la carte selections for purchase. Inclement weather alternative: Recreation Center 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Sponsored by Friends of Vanderbilt Men's Lacrosse. Event Committee: The Vessa, Rinella and Maloney Families.
